INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME (IB-PYP)(Year 1/2/3/4/5)
Primary education plays an important role in shaping children into healthy and strong individuals both physically and psychologically. To guide young learners in this early phase of their lives, Ascensia International School (AAIS) embraces educational philosophy advocated by global trends** and adopts the International Baccalaureatte Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) for its young learners through inculcating in the learner the Learner Profile attributes, and learning through inquiry-based courses and activities, as well as transdisciplinary units. Committed to aspire, nourish, and celebrate the individual and community, AAIS develops young students’ minds, hearts, and skills with hands-on projects, real-world situations, and global issues. Learning is a lifelong journey indeed. To nurture young students as caring and active participants, however, AAIS deems a transdisciplinary holistic learning approach key to enhancing young students to be open-minded, reflective, and curious explorers. Through our inquiry-based and transdisciplinary framework, AAIS challenges young students to start making changes from within, to become better individuals, and to help humanity as a whole and the environment.
**AAIS is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and pursuing authorization as an IB World School. Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP).
